The game uses Crytek's CryEngine, a standard for the series, with new features such as hardware ray tracing, higher resolution textures, improved particle effects and global illumination. It is also the first release in the series that is not published by Electronic Arts, instead being self-published by Crytek. It is a remaster of the original Crysis based on the console versions of the game from 2011, rather than the original PC release from 2007. Crysis Remastered is a singleplayer FPS developed by Crytek and Saber Interactive.
